The Merge is now a thing of the past but the next interesting upgrade is just ahead. Cardano (ADA) is doing a Vasil hard fork which should improve the blockchain. Crypto scams are increasing as more and more people get invested in cryptocurrencies. It seems that deep fake videos of celebrities are being used to trick people and YouTube scams are on the rise.
Mid-week trading continues the well-known story. Bitcoin is roughly 19 000 USD and Ethereum at 1300 USD. Small ups and downs are happening, but the bear market keeps on going. A positive signal comes from XRP with a jump of +8% as the lawsuit between XRP and SEC is developing. On top of that, nothing really big happening in the altcoins either.

What Cardano’s Highly Anticipated Vasil Hard Fork Will Bring
First there was Ethereum’s The Merge, now we have Cardano’s Vasil hard fork. The fork will upgrade the programming language Plutus to a version 2, making the Vasil fork incompatible backwards. The new upgrade should programming the chain more efficient and lower the gas fees. The fork will happen on Thursday, 22nd of September.
Despite Market Crash, MicroStrategy Buys 301 Bitcoins Worth $6 Million
Bitcoin price is still under 20 000 USD and bear market continues. Nonetheless, Microstrategy, the biggest corporate owner of Bitcoins, has “bought the dip”. According to filings to US Securities and Exchange Comission (SEC), Microstrategy has bought Bitcoin for 6 million dollars. The company believes in long-term ownership strategy of Bitcoins. This seems to signal that Microstrategy has strong faith in the future of Bitcoin.
Number Crypto Scams On YouTube Explodes 335% In First Half Of 2022
Crypto scams are nothing new. However, the large growth of scams in YouTube is something to be alarmed. The scams have increased over 300% since 2021. Majority of operations are targeting English and Spanish speaking crypto investors. Often these scams are related to crypto giveaways and have grown to be quite sophisticated, even using deepfake videos of celebrities endorsing the scammers “business”.
Twitch To Ban Crypto Gambling Livestreams After Backlash From Influencers
Twitch has decided to ban crypto gambling livestreams from sites that “aren’t licensed in USA or other jurisdictions that provide sufficient consumer protection”. TwitchTracker reports that watching streamers gamble is almost as popular as watching Fortnite. Some viewers have become hooked on crypto gambling after watching gambling streaming.
NFT marketplace OpenSea is adding Ethereum roll-up technology Arbitrum
Arbitrum, a roll-up technology used to improve Ethereum’s speed and reduce the gas fees will be added to OpenSea NFT marketplace. It’s not a huge news, but makes the foundations for OpenSea stronger and also gives Arbitrum positive recognition.
